OPERABLE AND RESECTABLE ESOPHAGEAL CANCER (Morning Session)

  • 08:20 – 08:40 Two case discussions – Resectable (T3-T4) vs. Unresectable (airway/atrial invasion)
  • 08:40 – 09:00 Evaluation of Operability – Preoperative workup (Cardiac, pulmonary, abdominal)
  • 09:00 – 09:20 Two case discussions – Operable (marginal) vs. Inoperable (cardiac reasons)
  • 09:20 – 09:40 How resectability changes with preoperative treatment
  • 09:40 – 10:00 Two case discussions – Post-chemoradiation vs. Post-chemoimmunotherapy
  • 10:00 - 12:00 Live Surgeries (2 rooms) – Ivor Lewis & McKeown

  • 13:00 – 13:20 Upper and Middle 1/3rd Squamous Cell Cancer (SquCC)
  • 13:20 – 13:40 Two case discussions – Retrotracheal & Subcarinal SquCC
  • 13:40 – 14:00 Lower 1/3rd SquCC and Adenocarcinoma (Siewert 1 & 2)
  • 14:00 – 14:20 Two case discussions – Retropericardial SquCC & Hiatal Adenocarcinoma
  • 14:20 – 17:00 Surgeries (2 rooms) – Midthoracic & lower esophageal tumor cases

EXPERIENCE: Attending surgeons or senior residents w/ esophagectomy experience.
